About

Dave has served as the lead pastor of First Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois, since 2013. He also donates his time to Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where he has served as adjunct faculty for its seminary in the past. He has also served as a chaplain for the Rockford Police Department for four years. He served as a pastoral assistant at First Baptist Church in Troy, Michigan, from 2006 to 2013. He graduated with a B. A. in Bible from Bob Jones University, an M. Div. and Th. M. from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph. D. in Applied Theology (Christian Leadership) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Holly is a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of four kids. She graduated with a B. S. in Nursing from Bob Jones University and an M. A. in Biblical Ministries from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania (now Clarks Summit University). She worked as a nurse in Michigan for several years.

Dave and Holly were married in 2007. We took several classes together at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary and have been reading and writing together ever since. Dave’s posts are notes and brief articles that he has preached, taught, and written during the course of his ministry. Holly’s posts are lessons learned from being a mom and wife and studying for herself and others in her church. (And she occasionally posts some tasty recipes, too.)

The most notable biographical detail about us is that we are sinners saved by grace through Jesus Christ and being sanctified through the Spirit. To God be all the glory.
